Sock/Fingering Weight
Sock and Fingering weight yarns are the same thickness/diameter and can be used interchangeably in most patterns. Sock yarn typically contains a percentage of Nylon or mohair/silk to add strength and durability. Fingering weight yarns can be used for Lace, shawls, fine gauge garments, baby items and more.
Gauge: 6.75-8 stitches per 1” on US 1-3 (2.25-3.25mm) needles (Please note that can vary based on personal tension and gauge & needle recommended in the pattern you are choosing.)
Yarn Weight Number Symbol: 1 also known as fine or fine sock, 4ply in parts of the UK.
