View collectionBlue Sky Fibers
Blue Sky Fibers started as a pet project, of sorts. Shortly after graduating college, owner/founder Linda Niemeyer's curious preoccupation with Alpacas led to her buying one. Soon Linda found herself with a lot of yarn on hand. She took it to a nearby yarn store, which was willing to buy and sell it. And the rest, as they say, is history. Today Blue Sky Fibers is known worldwide for its consciously crafted collection of high-quality natural fibers and patterns. One can only imagine how things might have turned out differently had Linda been obsessed with giraffes instead.

View collectionBrooklyn Tweed
"At Brooklyn Tweed we are passionate about natural fibers, knitting and design.
We develop and manufacture breed-specific yarns that fortify the American fiber supply chain and highlight the unique stories of our hard-working domestic partners. This means designing, sourcing, dyeing and spinning our yarns 100% within the USA and welcoming the knitter along on the journey from sheep to skein.
Rich in history, the American textile industry needs support to grow. Producing our yarns domestically helps local economies prosper, supporting dignified work and sustainable livelihoods within these traditionally underpaid fields. We forge lasting relationships from the ranch to the mill, enriching independent businesses while illuminating this very human process for our community of makers."

Sometimes, when the things you want aren't made by anyone else, you've just got to do it yourself. That's how we started, back in 1999. A small flock of sheep and a local mill combined to be able to produce our first ever yarns.
At the time, no organic standards existed for wool yarns. We were confident that the way we spun our yarns, starting with organic sheep, through environmentally friendly, traceable spinning was the right way, but it wasn't quite enough. So, by working with the Soil Association, we helped write the first ever organic standards for woollen yarns.
In 2003, we became the first company in the world to produce fully certified organic wool yarns - and we've never stopped.
Since then, we've been obsessed with traceable, ethical yarns. Everything we do is certified to Global Organic Textile Standards (GOTS)

View collectionLace weight
As one of the thinnest weights of yarn, lace weight produces a very fine, airy, & light fabric. Often used for shawls, wraps, or other more delicate projects. Lace weight yarns are usually knitted or crocheted on larger needles and hooks to create an open, loose gauge fabric and pattern. Always follow the gauge stated in your pattern.
Standard Gauge: 8.25-10 stitches per 1” on US 000-1 (1.5-2.25mm) needles (Please note that can vary based on personal tension and gauge & needle recomended in the pattern you are choosing.)
Yarn Weight Number Symbol: 0 or Extra Fine, also known as Number 10 crochet thread in Cotton/plant based threads.

Merino
The Merino is a breed or group of breeds of domestic sheep, characterised by very fine soft wool. It was established in Spain near the end of the Middle Ages, and was for several centuries kept as a strict Spanish monopoly; exports of the breed were not allowed, and those who tried risked the death penalty.

View collectionQing Fibre
Qing Fibre is the creative vision of Layla (Qing) Yang. Whilst learning to knit she discovered a want for more variegated and eye-catching colours that popped and changed with each stitch, struggling to get exactly the colourways she envisioned she set about creating them herself, and thus Qing Fibre was born in 2016. Since then she has been on a creative journey, sourcing ethically produced fibres from Peru and England to hand-dye in our London based studio. With Layla's amazing eye for colour guiding us, we strive to be unique and produce lovely skeins of art for all you Knitters, Crocheters and other yarn enthusiasts out there who love their projects to stand out!

View collectionSpincycle
Kate Burge-Tibi & Rachel Price began Spincycle as a handspinnery in 2004, the two of us kettle dyeing and spinning small batches of yarn and vending at Bellingham's farmers’ market. Because we came to this work with our foundation strictly in hand dyeing and handspinning, the hardest part of growing Spincycle from its tiny roots into a mill and dye house with worldwide reach, was figuring out how to scale up production while making yarn that looked exactly like handspun.
Most of time, yarns are milled and then dyed. In this way, you can get beautiful solids and tonals, or speckled colorways, or dip-dyed (also known as space-dyed) effects. You definitely cannot get a slow color changing yarn like ours, however, where the hues sunset into one another and where the surprise tones that occur when one color blends with another is as unique from skein to skein as a fingerprint. That is the Spincycle magic.
